Stillness

Alone, in the half darkness of dawn
I lay my head
upon your fallen leaves.

Earth cups my body;
releasing it from the fatigue
that weighed it down so heavily
yet moments before.

 I feel your energy—

a gentle flow through my body as
the aches and doubts take leave.
I am blessed with your stillness.

The sun rises. Your light guides me home.
