Before reading on, I encourage you to listen to this poignant
and ever so relevant soundtrack by David Bowie and Freddy Mercury, UnderPressure. Listen to the words especially the last two verses.
Insanity laughs under
pressure we're cracking
Can't we give ourselves one more chance?
Why can't we give love that one more chance?
Why can't we give love, give love, give love, give love, give love, give love, give love, give love?..
'Cause love's such an old-fashioned word
And love dares you to care for
The people on the edge of the night
And love dares you to change our way of
Caring about ourselves
This is our last dance
This is our last dance
This is ourselves
Under pressure
Under pressure
Pressure
Can't we give ourselves one more chance?
Why can't we give love that one more chance?
Why can't we give love, give love, give love, give love, give love, give love, give love, give love?..
'Cause love's such an old-fashioned word
And love dares you to care for
The people on the edge of the night
And love dares you to change our way of
Caring about ourselves
This is our last dance
This is our last dance
This is ourselves

Pressure
As we send our thoughts, as we pray and try to shine a light
of hope on those who are suffering in Paris… let us also send some of that love to
those that caused the pain. Only fear can cause such misery: the fear of
difference; the fear of alienation, of poverty and hopelessness.
Waging war has never stopped terrorism. As Bowie and Mercury
sing: love dares you to care for the
people on the edge of the night and love dares you to change our way of caring
for ourselves…
Let this not be our last dance.
